Ambrin Farizah Babu

Ambrin Farizah Babu is a TCSMT Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Turku and a Scientist at Afekta Technologies Ltd. She earned her PhD in Nutrition Science from the University of Eastern Finland as part of the Marie Curie ITN. Her doctoral work applied non-targeted LC-MS-based metabolomics to explore metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), assessing the impact of lifestyle interventions and novel microbiome therapeutics. Her current research builds on this foundation, integrating multi-omics data to investigate how dietary patterns shape microbiome–host interactions in metabolic diseases. She brings a combination of academic and industry expertise, with experience across India, Switzerland, Germany, and Finland. She has been recently recognized with the FeMS Empowerment Award and the Nordic Metabolomics Society travel awards (2023, 2024), among others. Beyond research, she is committed to mentoring and community building. She co-founded and leads the Finland Chapter of the Marie Curie Alumni Association in Turku and actively contributes to the Early-career Members Network of the Metabolomics Society, organizing workshops, bursaries, and networking opportunities for ECRs.
